Do I need an appointment or can I just come in?
We’re happy to help either way! Though, if you are a new climber looking to climb on the ropes and/or want to take a class at City Climb you will need to make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance. If you are new to climbing and don’t have a reservation, you are welcome to come in an boulder (shorter climbs without ropes).
What do I need to climb?
First, you need to fill out a waiver here. Then, all you’ll need is comfortable clothing that you’d wear doing any other recreational activity. Climbing shoes, harness, and chalk bag are a plus, but we offer those for a minimal rental fee. If you wish to climb in your own shoes, we require closed toe sneakers to climb on our walls. No barefoot, sandals, heels, boots, or open backed shoes allowed on climbing walls.
Do I need a membership?
You do not need a membership to climb at City Climb. We offer Day Passes and multi-day punch passes at a reasonable price.
What does the day pass get me?
A day pass includes access to our facility! You are welcome to leave and come back in the same day. This does not include rental gear or a staff belayer.
I have been belay certified at other gyms, can I belay at City Climb?
Yes you can! We just do a quick belay check which includes: tying the figure 8 knot, belaying properly, catching a fall, and lowering. Please note, we do not rent out gri-gris, only ATCs. If you have your own gri-gri, you may test on that, we just don’t rent them out.
Can I come with a group of my friends?
We love groups, and if you want to book a class or event for you and your friends give us a call and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.
How old do I have to be to climb at City Climb?
Climbing is fun for all ages and we welcome anyone 5 years or older to climb at City Climb! If you’re younger than 18 you will need an adult to sign a waiver of liability for you, though. Any child 13 years or younger must be supervised by an adult unless they are part of one of our youth programs.
Do you have auto-belays?
No we do not. If you need a belayer, we require an appointment. We also have a meetup group that climbs here Tuesday nights at 6pm! This is a great way to meet climbing partners.
How do I freeze or cancel my membership?
We do all freezing and cancelling of memberships through email. You can email us at desk@cityclimbgym. You must email us before the first of the month to complete the transaction. We do not do cancellations or freezes for part of a month.
If I am just watching a friend climb, do I need to fill out a waiver?
Everyone who will be in the facility needs to fill out a waiver, even if you are not climbing. To save time, you can fill one online here.
